Top Rated Hamster Cages? I think not 😳

Top Rated Hamster Cages? I think not 😳

Today we take a look at some of Amazon’s top rated hamster cages! Many people may view my opinions as negative but i would like people to take the time to remember once you have learned what is good and bad you start to easily identify whether or not something is going to work for the animal right away, so it is not my intention to be negative nor am I shaming anyone with these cages but rather hope it educates someone to look into hamster care more deeply! If you want to learn more about hamsters these studies are very helpful!

I am really curious over a decade ago I raised hamsters never had an issue that I needed to take a hamster to the vet for however, once my hands got bigger I did have a bigger wheel not a 12 inch more closer to an 8 inch now what I think is a dwarf he’s definitely not a sincere, Ryan he does have the small wheel and cage have a Ryan that I am looking to upgrade the key on now. I think he is very happy in his home.

  4. @iamsirgabe on February 5, 2025 at 9:36 pm

My hanster lives a critter cage And loves her tubes to climb into and out.

When my kids and I are in the room she comes to see us. We take her out of her cage to run in her exercise ball and even "free roam" her in a pop up style tent wjth a gunea pig and dwarf hamster. They all get to interect and get to know their own species better and then go back to their designated cages. Sounds kike a pretty damn good life to me?

For my hamster, I got him for free, as my dads friend had no space , he’s been living in the same cage for ages and sadly I can’t fit a proper sized cage in, I feel bad for hamster to not have the correct size living space, but happily I’m getting a rat cage that is COMPATIBLE for hamsters, it’s way bigger and I hope he likes it, your channel has really helped me know a lot about hamsters :>

(Edit) I don’t know if my hamster is a Syrian or not but he is chunky like a Syrian ( NOT HATING) But his eyes are like boba, if you could can you tell me what my hamster is?

A lot of the cages you approve are ones that minnick a wild life environment and I get that if we could all afford to purchase those style of cages maybe most people would. Also, not a lot of people have the room in their homes/apartments to have those style of designs. Hence the reason why they are buying a hamster …. Maybe they are limited on space and want their children to have a pet? At the end of the day it is a pet. Something to take care of and for your kids to experience in their life. They should be valued but you should not discriminate towards the other cages that might work for " real life people" we don’t need to all be hamster enthusiasts to own one and we shouldn’t feel bad for buying those cages that are easily accessible for us at the stores. Lastly, alot of those open environment cages you and other YouTubers have aren’t really kid friendly. I personally love the critter cages because it protects my hamster from my kids just grabbing them so easily. At the end of the day, the hamsters main attraction are the children. And so they should be child safe also. I care more about a human life than than animals. That does not say I don’t perish nor take my animals life for granted.

You seem like a nice person and all but clearly you value an animal’s life more than a human being. And that is your choice. But don’t criticize those who want to have their hamster in a regular cage. It’s better than the hamster sitting in the pet shop for its whole life and never experiencing a family loving home because people like you discourage them from buying one. They are supposed to be beginner level pets. They live a simple life and we should respect that.

If you make a cage make it with ecsesorys that you put in yourself

  10. @TheIzzyMay on February 5, 2025 at 9:46 pm

i don’t have hamsters, but i used to have a cage like this for my pet mice, it was so small it fit in my closet and my mice were always climbing and chewing on the bars, also the bars popped out of the connectors attaching it to the 3 inch base, and it caused many stressful moments when i thought they escaped but once i realized how bad the cage was i bought a terrarium with a deep base and no possibility of them escaping.

  11. @Astroxviber56 on February 5, 2025 at 9:46 pm

I have the second one. I’m sorry to my hammy in advance . I just don’t have enough money to buy big tanks 🙁

  12. @GoatedEditzzzzz on February 5, 2025 at 9:46 pm

If u can’t afford a big cage, make a bin cage. u can make the big snd there, not expensive

  13. @dianneperry1741 on February 5, 2025 at 9:47 pm

Those cages should be banned 😡

Victoria! I told my bff that has 2 dwarf hamsters that her cage IS NOT suitable hers can only have 1inch of bedding. Also she has about 30cm of floor space, I have told her multiple times that it is WAY TO SMALL, but she just DOSENT listen. Even worse her hamster is sick and she does NOTHING ABOUT IT. I have told her 1mil times the stuff she’s doing wrong, but she keeps saying “it’s fine my hamster is so happy in her cage.” Which is NOT true. Her hamsters have bitten the bars and stuff. She also have 2 hamsters in 1 cage saying that her hamsters are siblings and that they won’t fight. It also isn’t true. They haven’t fought yet, but I she just says that they will never. She has 0 WHEELS even worse she HAS them BUT REFUSED TO USE THEM. She continues to listen to my other bff who has had a hamster in the past. She just says like “Oh yeah you NEED (I forgot what it’s called it’s like the stuff inside a pillow)” and stuff like “yeah your hamster cage is perfect” which mentioned she has like 30cm of floor space. My bff who has the hamster even says “well they go into a playpen a lot so it dosent matter” I even showed her your the dos and donts video. She said “that girl is trying to get me to spend money on something unnecessary she’s just lying” I really hope my bff dosent get anymore hamsters in the future bc I really feel bad for her hamsters that have to live that way 🙁 or I just hope she improves. Also how do you think I should get her to actually research hamsters?

I have a russian dwarf hamster, my hamster has a big cage and she has bedding (idk how big) bit she has a place she burrows on one of the corners, she has a big (enough) wheel for a dwarf. Does anyone know what else? (She does have tunnels)

  19. @NotSoManlyFella on February 5, 2025 at 10:00 pm

Would the combi cage work as a travel cage? I go to my cabin almost every week, it’s a 1 and half an hour drive. She currently travels in a carrier and I really want her to have at least water and food during the drive

  21. @Tita179 on February 5, 2025 at 10:02 pm

What do you think of organizing boxes as a habitat for a hamster? I’m going to buy one recently, and I’m thinking about using a very large organizing box, because I don’t have money to buy a terrarium or aquarium.

  22. @SonicRoman444 on February 5, 2025 at 10:02 pm

Would like your advice about the cages that I do have and I’m OK with positive criticism I totally understand and do not hold anything against you

Hi Victoria I’m a huge fan and I just want to say if your counting with cm and makes it to scare inches you ➗6,25 because I have noticed that the calculations are wrong just so you know and google is incorrect it calculates wrong so I love your videos by the way and I’ve learned so much I did so much research before getting my hamster kiwi and first he had an 422 and now he is in a 466 cage and we’re soon getting a new cage and I’m and in my country Sweden the minimum is 30✖️20 and it is way to small I have also told my other friend that her two hamster has a to small cage but she doesn’t want to change it like you said some people just don’t accept it bye ❤❤❤

  31. @SonicRoman444 on February 5, 2025 at 10:11 pm

I cannot figure out how to post my pictures. I appreciate all of the videos that you do. I would definitely like your constructive criticism so I may not follow everything because I raised hamsters for years with no veterinarian visits, but I do understand and remember them fighting at their cages and doing a lot of other things and I am trying to do better with my cages teaching my boys how to raise hamsters.

  32. @abelholloway8941 on February 5, 2025 at 10:12 pm

I use the pink cute kinda small cage. If u search that u should get the cage. It’s 2 levels and is baby link and light green for my hamster while cleaning her cage or a trip to the vet! It works really good for me: Di only use it for those 2 things never use it for a life long home. Unlesss it’s a old hamster like old..

  39. @Toothless-cookie on February 5, 2025 at 10:18 pm

I love your videos when i first got my hamster she had a small cage and i was like her cage is kinda big but then i started to watch videos and your videos mostly and i was like i need a bigger wheel and bigger cage and i need a water bowl and now i have all that but i still need to get some stuff and i’m so happy that she has a big cage a big wheel and i thinks over 10 inches of bedding 🙂 i’m happy that she’s happy bro these hamster cages almost made me cry i fill so bad for all those hamsters that have those cages my friend has the second cage u reacted to and she says my hamster cage is better 😢 and it’s so tiny and she makes me fill really bad about my self because she says i abuse my hamster because she thinks she as the best hamster cage 😢

  40. @ChristianeHelmle on February 5, 2025 at 10:18 pm

Hi, Victoria. I bought a 75 gallon tank for my hamster syrian and it has a 10 inch wheel, do you think are they too big for my hamster?

  41. @everything_movies602 on February 5, 2025 at 10:23 pm

I can’t believe that these cages are so much money!! And also if the minimum is 450 square inches why are these cages being sold in pet stores and online why are these cages even legal if they are way way under the minimum which even the minimum is too small!! That’s why there’s so much misconception about hamster care because people figure oh they wouldn’t sell it at a pet store or wouldn’t be able to be sold or be used for hamsters or rodents if it wasn’t safe or if it wasn’t okay.. And also the way pet stores treat these animals are another reason why these animals are mistreated by their owners.. The pet stores know we’ve been less.. They give you the opposite knowledge and care advice for almost every animal at least places like Petco which are very common for people to get pets which is a horrible company but a lot of people don’t know this.. there needs to be more regulations and laws to protect all animals from neglect and abuse and it begins with educating people properly and companies selling the correct products.. The worst one of the worst parts of this whole horrible thing is that they always way way overcharge who these teeny tiny sad little should be illegal cages.. 74.99 for less than 200 sq in?!! Another one was like 54.99 or something And a lot of them Don’t even come with the tubes! So So then you got to buy the tubes and a package of like three or four can go from anywhere from 15 to $30 and up depending on how many you need.. So you’ve already paid $74 and then now what to buy these tiny tubes that break so easily and come off of the cage and your hamster can easily break out of and that also just break easy, If all of that money was put into a diy enclosure or bin cage or bin cages connected you could make an amazing bin cage or enclosure with the money that they’re charging for these terrible tiny sad cages and all their extra things that need to be bought for the cages

  42. @sennituominen4425 on February 5, 2025 at 10:23 pm

As someone who has kept reptiles and is considering a hamster I find the recommended tank size really small and manufacturers making their enclosures EVEN smaller baffles me!

  43. @Noa_romy on February 5, 2025 at 10:23 pm

i keep small hamster cages, because i use it to transport my hamsters but my cages always contain more than 100 cm. thats great!

  44. @MatiasTorres-pc2fj on February 5, 2025 at 10:23 pm

I DONT CARE ABOUT quality if it means my hampter does not happy

  45. @erichastert2788 on February 5, 2025 at 10:24 pm

  46. @LoafieBread-os4uy on February 5, 2025 at 10:24 pm

i forever regret and am filled with guilt that i got him the green and white cage. i thought he liked it. i later attached a bin cage to it. he died because he escaped and i am so sad i did that to him. RIP Uzi. Im sorry

  47. @hamster_7578 on February 5, 2025 at 10:25 pm

You say everything correctly! agree with you!

  48. @Akomiimentioned on February 5, 2025 at 10:30 pm

These cages are so expensive, I bought a 120x50x50 aquarium for $27 (I live in a third world country)

  49. @ButterFromDiscord on February 5, 2025 at 10:31 pm

I started off with a Ferplast cage
It was the biggest most expensive cage I could find in the store
….and it didn’t even reach the North American bare minimum floor space
