I can’t keep my tanks warm side hot enough. I’ve got the reptizoo 4x2x2 tank with 2x150w bulbs, 1xArcadia ProT5 with a 24w bulb and I’ve added a ceramic heat emitter bc it’s just too cold. Our house is cold (mid 60s) but idk what else to do except cut a hole in the screen so I can drop the heat lamp inside the tank. Also the heat bulbs are not lasting as long as they used to. I’m in Cali, I recall you mentioned that there are off brand/tool stores where you can buy basic bulbs but idw to buy the wrong one. If you can recall what those were that would be awesome. Also what about insulating the top of the screen somehow?

How can I get my 4x2x2 to hold heat better the cage all around is about 76 and the basking spot is about 107 is that good? I just feel he needs more ambient temps

Are halogen bulbs safe for tortoises? I looked it up on Google and this tortoise forum came up and someone said that they are bad because the IR-A levels are too high. Causing carapace desiccation and pyramiding.

I was trying to buy this thermostat but I only see a black one linked on your YouTube, is that the same one?

I made the mistake of buying a starter kit but it came with a dual dome combo lamp and it had the UVB coil bulb and "day light" bulb for heat which is like blue and 60w. I replaced the UVB coil bulb with an arcadia T5 pro and filled the empty hole of the heat lamp dome with another 60w bulb and we shall see if that gets my basking spot to the desired temp

I need help with my leopard gecko. My room is in the basement and isn’t all that well insulated with temps around 40F-50F currently during the winter here in MA. I have a heating lamp with a 100 watts basking bulb but I can’t get my 40 gal tank past 70F. What should I do?

  19. @Burritosarebetterthantacos on February 5, 2025 at 9:54 pm

Worst thing I did was visit petco. They sold me expensive heating stuff i didnt need and turns out it was all wrong.

  20. @eliora9108 on February 5, 2025 at 9:55 pm

Can you keep reptiles in a house that is almost allways in the 70s to low 80s? I’m scared that someday my reptile won’t be able to cool down.

  21. @unicornwizhez4115 on February 5, 2025 at 9:59 pm

I’m keeping my adult bearded dragon with a 100w zoo med it produces lots of uvb / uva etc, is that good for her?

  23. @Genoil_ on February 5, 2025 at 10:00 pm

So I just made a terrarium it does not reach the desired temps on 100 watt halogen bulb I want to get an extra 150 watt ceramic heat emitter (in night it also gets cold) can I connect this with the same habitat dimming thermostat. I dont really know how much gallon it is because it has a weird shape.

  24. @YouILuv1 on February 5, 2025 at 10:01 pm

  25. @umarpin8809 on February 5, 2025 at 10:01 pm

So I have the thrive enclosure and I changed top to to the mesh top and the 100w bulb is only getting to 80 degrees and I see on the box it says it won’t go higher then 80. I’m using the thrive heat bulb. What would you recommend for a bearded dragon

  26. @CorruptedWanderer on February 5, 2025 at 10:02 pm

I’m not sure if you know anything about cherryhead tortoises, but how much wattage do you recommend for a basking spot in a 75 gallon? And what lamp fixture do you use?

  31. @JuanGomez-ss4lc on February 5, 2025 at 10:08 pm

I have a baby bearded dragon in a 40-gallon tank. I’m using a Reptisun T5 HO 24 watt (24-inch) UVB light along with a 100-watt basking light and a 100-watt ceramic heat emitter. I live in FL, and my AC is set to 65°F at night and 75°F during the day. The tank reaches 88°F in the cool spot and 100°F in the basking zone during the day. Is this setup okay? Because the AC gets cold at night, I added a heat pad on the side of the tank (not the bottom). Any advice or changes needed? Thanks!

  32. @melissac2230 on February 5, 2025 at 10:11 pm

I just switched to a 4x2x2 from a 6×2 I had her lamp inside it’s a 75 watt but the basking point was to hot reaching 113 I put it on top and it’s now at 90 but wattage bulb can I use for inside to get the basking point good? The light has a distance inside of 8 inches. Is that to close. What should the cool end be at? I’m stressing over this now since I set it up 2 days ago I need her temps correct. Please help with advice I’m going crazy trying to figure out it out.

if i live in the UK and dont have very good ventilation in the uk do i need a higher heat lamp ?

  35. @mare_369 on February 5, 2025 at 10:15 pm

Hi! I got a 5x2x2 tank for my bearded dragon recently, and I’m unsure about the lighting, I have a 100 watt basking bulb, a 10.0 reptisun uvb (this one is inside the tank, in the center) and a ceramic heat bulb. I think I’m getting the right temperature, but the tank is black and it doesn’t look too bright inside, and I don’t know where to place the lighting either, all in the middle? Just one side? If I move it to one of the sides, the other side would be super dark.. do you have any tips so the tank looks brighter without making the lighting set up ineffective? Thank you!

  36. @kevinmarks8862 on February 5, 2025 at 10:17 pm

I have a 20 gallon long tank until my 120 gallon tank comes in do you think a 50 watt basking bulb is good for a bearded dragon?

  37. @ericaroadman1371 on February 5, 2025 at 10:19 pm

Hi, I have a 40gal tank and my thermostat in my house says it’s 65 inside. I was wondering if you could tell me what heat wattage I would need for my lizard.

  40. @vante-vz5nc on February 5, 2025 at 10:22 pm

Quick question if i have a 29 gallon in a house that keeps the temp around 72°, what bulb would be best to keep the hot side at 88°-93°?

  41. @berniceforever on February 5, 2025 at 10:22 pm

Thank you so much!! I’m going to make sure that my (hopefully soon to be) leopard gecko baby will be warm enough in my basement now. It’s about 67-68 degrees regularly

  42. @davidaguirre1820 on February 5, 2025 at 10:23 pm

How long should a basking area take to get to correct temperature on a new setup

  43. @Juicifer-77 on February 5, 2025 at 10:23 pm

Tin foil on top of screen screen tops helps maintain heat in the tank very well.

What about ceramic heat emitters? Are they dimmable as well?

  44. @recklessaz6708 on February 5, 2025 at 10:23 pm

Is 75 watt bulb got enough for a 20 gallon, for a baby breaded dragon?

  45. @Truex_fan19 on February 5, 2025 at 10:24 pm

Nice but for a 20 gallon tank tank is for green anoles and is usually 66.0 degrees what watts do I need????

What is the most ideal gallon tank for a bearded dragon

  49. @hannymanny1 on February 5, 2025 at 10:28 pm

Okay this is exactly what i needed! I just got my first bearded dragon from someone who was giving him and everything away free. It was a friend of a friend kind of thing (she was being evicted). The heat lamp is just not getting the basking area higher than 80 degrees F. My house is usually kept about 66/68ish in the winter up here in Maine. Gonna go get a 100 watt and hopefully that will do the trick

  50. @davidheether1655 on February 5, 2025 at 10:29 pm

We got my 9 year old daughter her first gecko. A Leo. One part of the enclosure is about 75 degrees. The basking spot is at 85 degrees. Atleast that’s what the room temp/humidity meter is saying in the tank. Is that about where it needs to be or should I get a warmer heat bulb? The temps here in California are around 45 degrees outside. And inside the house is around 67 degrees. Maybe a little less. Not running the home central heat. Too expensive. My daughter’s room with the gecko is a bit warmer than the house.
