Does this feed recipe work well for both egg layers and meat chickens?

  6. @Freedom1621God1st on February 5, 2025 at 9:41 pm

Hi ; do you add puppy kibble in the mix with everything else???

  7. @angelofamillionyears4599 on February 5, 2025 at 9:41 pm

Also, most grocers throw out expired food daily. They will allow you to pick up weekly if you ask. Feed them greens and the eggs will be orange. taste better.

Chickens will lay the amount of eggs designed in her dna to lay. Her eggs are already lined up and programmed in her ovaries!!

Excuse me field corn is delicious. I donโ€™t like sweet corn. Iโ€™d much rather have some fried, boiled out on the cobb of it than the sweet corn for humans. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Itโ€™s delicious in vegetable soup too.

How much puppy food would you add please?

  14. @chaoscoordinator566 on February 5, 2025 at 9:49 pm

Unpopular opinion- I fed my chickens this for 3 months. They had never been sick. Egg quality dropped and they slowly stopped layingโ€ฆthen got horribly sick.
    Over and over.
Switched to store bought pellets and they all started laying again in 2 weeks. Everyone is healthy and recovered.

There arenโ€™t enough nutrients in this mixture. I was hopeful and wanted to make my own. But I almost lost my chickens doing this.

All these things your talking about nutritionally great foods sound great but I have not had a chicken that eats anything you promote.

FYIโ€ฆ.most of the corn grown in the US is GMO so keep this in mind if mixing in your bird feed.

Is the food you’re buying and feeding your chickens pure food, not bioengineered?

I donโ€™t think this is enough proteinโ€ฆ I made this and my chickens are now eating their own eggsโ€ฆ..

  29. @brianmatthews4323 on February 5, 2025 at 10:07 pm

I’m sorry, but if I’m wanting to get away from feeding my chickens commercial chicken feed, I’m certainly not going to feed them commercial DOG feed.

    And for that reason………..I’m out.

  30. @ZygmuntB-q9d on February 5, 2025 at 10:11 pm

  32. @CMAenergy on February 5, 2025 at 10:16 pm

Obviously you don’t know the difference between calcium and grit
As you talk about calcium, Your showing grit ?

  33. @kirkmiller4913 on February 5, 2025 at 10:16 pm

Crock. We grind our own corn and oats, sun flower, canola, barley and make alfalfa pellets . We make pig and sow mix, chicken mix, layers mix, pulley mix, cow and horse mix and finish mix for stars with half crushed corn and oats and Pa. Barrel molasses dribbled in as we grind and fill up bags.
    Goats fend for themselves

  34. @BrijusR on February 5, 2025 at 10:17 pm

    Very nice ๐Ÿ‘Œ

  35. @VaughnCarey-p3r on February 5, 2025 at 10:18 pm

I grew up to hearing horse corn for animal food and sweet corn was the people corn then the Indian corn for decorative and shoe peg was the little short stalks tiny 3โ€ ears

  36. @SCDigitalDeb on February 5, 2025 at 10:19 pm

Love your video and thanks for sharing the recipe. Another source of calcium is ground egg shells. I save all my eggshells, watch them thoroughly and rinse. When they are completely dry I put them in a sturdy chick food bag and crush them into very tiny bits. I don’t leave any pieces larger than a grain of rice. My eggs have nice thick shells. Sadly, I only have one chicken so I don’t purchase the oyster shells since I add the egg shells back into the diet. If I had more chickens than I would definitely use the oyster shell, since I would not have enough eggshells to contribute to the necessary calcium.
I also use the ground eggshells in the garden to supplement the soil.

  37. @chantalvanstaden5322 on February 5, 2025 at 10:21 pm

Apparently the shells gives calsium but desolves. Therefor grit is used

  38. @mrvarand736 on February 5, 2025 at 10:22 pm

    LOVE YOU BECKY

  39. @charlottegibbons369 on February 5, 2025 at 10:22 pm

Do any of you use a treadle feeder? We have had some issues with rats coming for feed. I’m wondering if this would help. Do treadle feeders work well?

  40. @lancemcque1459 on February 5, 2025 at 10:24 pm

Becky, you are looking mighty fine these days.

  41. @marshajamison7463 on February 5, 2025 at 10:25 pm

Eggs also get a weak shell if the hens don’t have oyster shells.

  42. @brian-xf2cf on February 5, 2025 at 10:25 pm

Not sure which redhead they’re talking about in that thumbnail they both have eggs

  43. @susanforet2117 on February 5, 2025 at 10:26 pm

Oh my goodness, I just learned so much from you. I have had chickens for just 2 months. Thanks so much!

  44. @nickmeltonmortgageman4814 on February 5, 2025 at 10:29 pm

Where do you buy these products?

  45. @renewyckoff545 on February 5, 2025 at 10:29 pm

I appreciate your video . But I just saw a u tube video , your feeding your chickens to death.. said too many sunflower seeds. And another, oats blow up chickens gut. I pray that we all have correct I fo. We love our chickens. Must keep learning with humility and prayer. Thank you so much agape love to all

  46. @Becky-ec3mn on February 5, 2025 at 10:30 pm

Your suggested ingredients are very valuable. I did a search on Tractor Supplyโ€™s basic chicken feed labels, and it included a lot more unrecognizable ingredients. I am uncertain if they are good or bad, but Iโ€™d like to try your remedy. Thank you.

  47. @debodeeful on February 5, 2025 at 10:30 pm

My chick’s 19 of them, refuse to eat black seed sunflowers, corn, and spilt peas. They pick around them, so frustrating.

  48. @chantalvanstaden5322 on February 5, 2025 at 10:32 pm

What do you think about soy?

  49. @mikerichards7515 on February 5, 2025 at 10:33 pm

So what the heck! Don’t you feed your chickens layer feed? Crumbles or pellets?
    Jeze, rip off.

  50. @privateparty125 on February 5, 2025 at 10:33 pm

My chickens won’t eat seeds at all. Why do other people’s chickens eat seeds and mine dont like it?
