Informative. Very clearly explained. If i am using RO water for the discus tank ( tap water over 500 ppm tds as it is borewell dependent locality ), RO water is neutral being slightly acidic and it is devoid of any minerals which can be adjusted with a remineralizer ( Seachem Equilibrium ) but what about the Kh. RO water has insignificant Kh to retain a stable Ph which can crash. The Alkaline buffer ( Seachem ) will retain the buffering capacity by increasing Kh but it is not permanent as once the buffering capacity depletes the Kh will drop and so will the Ph which will kill all the fishes. Does a Alkaline RO unit serves the purpose or a minimum amount of crushed coral in mesh bag in the filtration system or Coral Shell in tank is the solution?

I have very hard well water, if I add 1/2 well water and 1/2 distilled water my gh is 15 and kh is 10. Would this be okay for endlers, snails and plants or would 3/4 disilled and 1/4 tap be better? I have not set up a aquarium yet because I have been trying to figure out how to make my rock hard water work.

We know that GH is the opposite of KH, but what is important here is that the fish’s habitat requires sufficient magnesium and calcium ions so that there is a balance aquarium water hardness

Donโ€™t forget when topping off tanks, use RO water otherwise adding hard water will just increase the hardness of the water in the tank. This was my mistake for years as I neglected GH and KH

These tips will really help many fishkeepers to manage water quality. Water hardness has a big influence on the environment of our fish. We can use liquid to test the water condition and the PH level. Thank you so much for doing this video.
