This is helpful! I didn’t know hamsters could eat egg whites and and all of those meats. I just checked the ingredients and nutrition facts of Gumdrop’s food and luckily her food is suitable. Also I recently gave her fresh veggies (a spinach leaf) for the first time and she loved it!😊

This was such a great video! I didn’t realize that dwarf hamsters don’t need to eat much vegetables. I feed my dwarf hamster 1 tsp of her food mix every other day, since that’s the amount of days it takes her to eat (almost) all of it. Does that sound okay? 😅 Somebody on my channel told me to feed her more.. so now I’m a bit paranoid. 🐹

Thank you for telling me all about this, sadly my very first hamster passed away in February due to a sickness but I had a small cage, used a ball, brought him around dogs and sometimes cats, fed him pellets and foods that were not healthy for them. I regret everything. Rest in piece Ollie ❤

Hello! I hope my question gets answered😊 about campbell dwarf hamsters since they are prone to diabetes I’m not sure if I should buy Rodipet dwarf junior or Bunny dwarf dream expert hamster food because I noticed Rodipet has almost the same protein and fiber percentage with bunny dwarf except rodipet’s fat content is higher (10%) while bunny dwarf food mix fat % is just 6%. I also heard a few “coincidental” bad experiences with bunny dwarf like their hamster getting sick but got better after switching to a local hamster food mix although I heard a lot of good reviews saying bunny dwarf is a good hamster mix and I heard 1 saying it lacks variety (has 20+ food content) I want to provide the best for my campbell dwarf hamster but in my country the only nice hamster food being sold are Bunny Dwarf, Rodipet, and I guess Sunburst

Great video! Im planning to get a seed mix from etsy soon! At the pet store i saw a seed mix with pellets and in the pellets there were hay and im just like 😳 it was targeted towards hamsters- Miso Absolutely LOVES mealworms, its so cute seeing her eat them 🥰

I give all my hamsters vegetables. Most vegetables have super low carbs such as greens, zucchini, cucumber.
None of the hamster mixes are available in the US. There’s 1 company that has a dwarf only mix & a gerbil & hamster mix, but I the dwarf mix had a higher amount of alfalfa hay.
Only 1 of my hamsters likes fly larvae & 3 of 4 like meal worms.
They all love egg whites, chicken, & hamburger meat 😋
My first hamster cage was small, and she was in a ball.i feel absolutely awful that she had to have that. Now, Pearl (winter white dwarf) has a 700 square inch cage with 9 inch bedding and lots of enrichment with a large wheel and tunnels!! All thanks to you and your advice!

Hello! Just to clarify, the beginning of the video states that Syrian hamsters have a higher tolerance for wheat, rye, oats, and corn. Later in the video, Those things are listed as things you do not want in a food mix. If I am looking into getting a Syrian hamster, are those still things that shouldn’t be in their food mix, or are they okay since they have a higher tolerance? Just trying to get as much info as possible!

Surprisingly Etsy has an amazing hamster website for treats, food mixes, forage, wood toys and sprays although I would read the desc and make sure it is good for your hamster I ger mutliple things for my hamster [9 month female syrian] I get bordem breakers, wood chews and forage from there and more ❤

What a fantastic and informative video. I am curious as to why some say to feed dwarf hamsters vegetables a few times a week rather then every day. I wonder if that is something we should implement in the UK.🤔 I used to feed my robo a very tiny piece of fresh food daily. It was just big enough for him to hold it in his little paws. ❤
