What & How to Feed Kittens age 4 to 6 Weeks old
With Kitten Season in full swing, I’m getting a lot of questions about when young kittens can begin eating on their own and what to feed them. In this video I will show you the best foods for kittens this age and how to encourage them to start eating on their own. Kittens are able to eat solid food between 3 and 4 weeks old. Usually they learn from watching their mother eat, and as she begins to wean them off milk they start looking to eat solid food. There’s lots of foods for kittens on the market, and I always recommend buying the highest quality dry and canned food you can afford. Be sure the food is soft enough for small kittens to chew, and that it contains the proper nutrients needed for growing kittens. Provide a clean living environment (kittens are messy), fresh water, and lots of love…a healthy diet is just part of raising happy kittens!

We recently were given 2 kittens and they are not eating the canned kitten food we got for them or drinking any milk and I am concerned I tried the methods shown in the video but still haven’t succeeded. Any tips?

I just bought a 9 week kitten. She refuses to eat cat kitten meat. She will only eat tuna or ham or fresh meat. She starved for 3 days before the seller told me to try her with ham. I did ans it worked but it’s no good for her health.

I’m very interested in providing the best care to 6 kittens that were born in my patio. They were born on March 5th,and I did purchase ROYAL CANIN wet and dry food. They all seem to enjoy it. My concern is where to have them fixed when the time comes and the mother as well.

I have four kittens and the mother ( stray ) that came into my yard. They’re four weeks old and me and my husband are really sick. He can’t breathe. He’s very allergic and I have severe digestive problems and heart problems. I wish someone would take them. I don’t know what to do Too sick the mother took care of them all this time in our house but now I don’t know how I’m gonna feed them ? We really need someone to help but where can I find help? and my poor husband, he’s been sleeping in our truck. Praying 🙏🙏🙏

My kittens just turned 6 weeks old yesterday I boil water. I put kitten food in a bowl with hot water. I let it moist two scoops of baby kitten formula and they love it.
Is a 3 week kitten good to eat ? Dry food if you break it as powder dry food

Thanks for the advice. A very friendly stray cat here in my apartment block has had 4 adorable kittens. Despite being spring it’s been really cold and so I put them in a box with a blanket and brought them and mum cat inside. Guess I have a new cat! She’s a good mum but I’ve not raised kittens from birth so I found your video quite helpful. Solid food fun coming!
Since my kitten has her nose stucked, she stopped eating wet food by herself. I tried different wet food, adding odorant powder, starving her for 2 days, nothing worked. I have to go back to feeding bottle. Any suggestions?
I FELT COMPELLED TO SHARE MY STORY. I’VE BEEN FEEDING A STRAY FEMALE FOR WELL OVER A YEAR, MIND U THIS IS HER SECOND LITER. THE FIRST LITER SHE HAD 4 KITTENS, 1 GOT HIT BY A CAR, 2 GOT POISONED & THE RUNT I GOT BARCS TO GET BECAUSE IT NEEDED MEDICAL. SO FAST FORWARD & JUST YESTERDAY, MOM WAS OUT IN OUR BUILDING PARKING LOT HUNTING FOR FOOD AS SHE HASNT ATE IN 3 DAYS SINCE ITS BEEN VERY COLD IN MD RECENTLY SO A KITTEN FOLLOWED MOM. I MANAGED TO BRING KITTY INSIDE BUT WAS HESITANT TO BRING MOM INSIDE BECAUSE IF THERE R MORE KITTENS, THEY WOULD NOT ONLY B COLD BUT ALSO STARVE. SO THIS IS WHERE I AM TODAY & ANY HELP WOULD B GREATLY APPRECIATED. KITTY DOES EAT & I HAVE BEEN DOING 2 PERCENT MILK THRU A SYRINGE. IN SMALL DOSES SINCE SHE IS EATING CAN CAT FOOD ALL BY HERSELF. Matt, we’re not close to feeding our kittens pate food for two weeks only but it’s getting horrible kids now one of the kidneys are not eating properly that’s why we have the bottle feed them😅

I am watching this video cuz almost 1 and half month ago I got blessed with an unknown visitor cat (Lilie)who came to our home and lived with us and also gave birth to a really cute baby around 20 days ago.. and now she is no more because of her unfortunate death and I am feeling really very worst I just cant sleep I am missing my Julie alot …i want to take care of her baby and I want to take care of the baby same as her mama…. please bless my baby may may baby kitten live longer than me I can’t see her death like her mother in front of me l🙏🙏🙏😭😭
